Race Information 2019

Mark your calendars! Saturday, August 17th we are having an AU-mazing Race!

Our team at Upper Valley Autism Resource Centre (UVARC) is proud to bring an AU-mazing Race to our communities this summer! The race will span from Grand Falls-Perth-Andover, NB.  Similar to the popular TV show, teams will complete challenges in the communities along the way. Our goal is to help raise awareness as well as funds to aid autism families in our communities. The event will be held Saturday, August 17th, 2019. This race is open to ALL!!  Register for some family fun and team bonding!

Prizes to be won!

  • 1st place prize for the first team to complete the race.
  • 2nd place prize for the second team to complete the race.
  • Prize for team that raised the most donations for the Fundraiser.

Where will the race take place?

There will be an individual or group challenge in 2 different communities including Perth-Andover and Grand Falls.

How do I register?

To register, please fill out our online registration form here. You can also drop-in at the Centre, Facebook or email us for a copy. Please register as soon as possible!  A “registration fee” is NOT due when registering your team. Register now so you have more time to raise funds for UVARC.

What will it cost?

There is a minimum individual fee of $100/ team member!!  Feel free to give a donation as a team! The registration fee deadline is August 1st, 2019

Team requirements

Within each team, one participant must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for the day. A minimum of 3 members per team. Teams from all communities are welcome!

How can I donate?

Teams are required to fundraise or find sponsors for this event. You can also make donations at the Centre by visiting us or sending an e-transfer. If you send an e-transfer, please be sure to specify that your donation is for the AU-mazing Race or if you wish to support a particular team (provide a team/team member name).

No amount is too small, and every gift is greatly appreciated!

A receipt can be written for any donation upon request. We are a registered charity.

What should I wear?

We suggest you dress in comfortable clothing and in sneakers/running shoes. Be sure to check the weather so that you may dress accordingly. Be prepared for ANYTHING!

What about the weather?

The Race will happen rain or shine, so please dress for the weather!

What else should I bring?

Please be sure to bring a cell phone, camera or another device to take pictures. One smart phone from each team will be needed to download an app for one of the challenges. A water bottle, snack and towel may benefit you.

How long will the event be?

The time it takes to complete the race will depend on how long it takes for your team to complete the challenges. We estimate that the race will take 3 or more hours in total.

Whether first place or last, the real winners will be our Autism Families. ALL funds will go to aiding these families in your hometowns and neighboring communities. If you are interested in participating but do not want to take part in the race, you can do so through a money donation or by coming out to cheer the teams on!

This event will be ending at UVARC this year and we plan on a family fun event so we have our autism families here to help celebrate the AU-mazing racers!

This event allows our communities to come together for a great cause. If your family, friends, co-workers or church group is up for the challenge, contact us!

We will be having a “Summer End” party at the end of the race for all families to enjoy with food and fun so you can be here to cheer on the teams that raised funds for our programs and events. Starting at 11am
